The highway faced closure at Hingni, Ramsoo in Ramban on Sunday due to the damage to the road, resulting in numerous vehicles being stranded and causing significant travel disruptions.
However, by evening, authorities permitted traffic to move in a single lane, actively working to clear the remaining stranded vehicles and expedite the full restoration of two-way traffic.
This reopening is a positive development for residents and tourists, given that the Jammu-Srinagar NHW is the primary route linking Jammu and Kashmir to the rest of the nation.
Furthermore, alongside the Jammu-Srinagar NHW, the SSG Road and Mughal Road, two other critical transportation routes in the region, have also been declared open for vehicular movement.
