Jammu Traffic Cops return lost wallet containing ₹12000 cash, other important documents to owner
JAMMU, 12 FEBRUARY: There are a few incidents that help restore one’s faith in the honesty of human beings and one such great example was again set by Jammu traffic cops who after finding a wallet containing cash and other documents returned it to the rightful owner.
As per details available, Traffic SO Dogra Chowk ASI Bhupinder Singh @ Bunty and their team found a wallet at Jammu city centre’s busy Dogra Chowk and upon going through its contents and found some phone numbers written on a page.
The contact numbers found were called on to reach the owner, namely Ankush Kumar resident of Siot Rajouri.
When Ankush received DTI’s call, he had just finished checking around the area of Dogra Chowk Jammu and had lost all hope of finding his wallet. “DTI Sunil Singh told me to come to near Traffic booth at Dogra Chowk and collect the wallet. I thought he must have found an empty wallet with only my ID proof. It had around rupees 12000 and other cards. Nevertheless I went there because it is difficult to make new Aadhar (card) and other identity cards”, said Ankush.
An hour later when Ankush met DTI Bus Stand Inspr Sunil Singh along with SO Bhupinder and got his wallet back, he was surprised to see the cash intact. Upon checking his wallet, found that Traffic cops had only checked the documents. Not a single rupee was missing.
The owner Ankush Kumar expressed his gratitude to the Traffic Police Jammu to be able to get his wallet back.
