JJM: DDC Chairperson Ramban inaugurates construction of GSR Projects in Block Sangaldan
RAMBAN, JANUARY 17: Chairperson, District Development Council, Ramban, Dr Shamshad Shan, today launched the work of two Ground Service Reservoirs (GSR) being executed by the Jal Shakti department in Block Sangaldan.
The Chairperson initiated the construction of a 5000-gallon GSR in Kachar Mohalla Panchyat Famrote, Block Sangaldan, as part of the Jal Jeevan Mission schemes. This retrofitting project, being executed by the Jal Shakti Department with an estimated cost of Rs. 5 Lakh, would benefit 326 households.
In addition, Dr Shamshad Shan inaugurated the construction of a 10000-gallon GSR at Dar Mohalla Movalkote under the District Plan, with an estimated cost of Rs. 12.34 lakh.
Commending the local residents for their unwavering support, the Chairperson underscored the pivotal role of these projects in elevating the overall quality of life of the entire community. She reiterated the government’s resolve to provide clean and safe drinking water to all residents, aligning with the objectives of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
The event witnessed the presence of PRIs members, J.E Jal Shakti Department Rakesh Kumar, along with field staff and local residents, symbolizing a collaborative effort towards achieving the shared goal of enhanced water infrastructure in the region.
