JJM Fortnight in full swing across Ramban, DC visits panchayat Chanterkote

 RAMBAN, AUGUST 05: As part of ongoing Jal Jeevan Mission Fortnight (JJM), the Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam visited panchayat Chanderkote to take stock of ground status of Kunfer Water supply scheme.

Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Rajeev Gai, AEE Rocky Mahajan, PRIs and locals were present on the occasion.

Appreciating the efforts of Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Ramban and his team for commissioning Kunfer Water Supply Scheme of cost of Rs. 3.91 crore under JJM, the DC said with the functioning of said JJM scheme all the issues pertaining to water supply will be resolved in Chanderkote area.

The DC said that various schemes are under execution at different levels in all three Jal Shakti Sub-divisions including Gool and Banihal  which will resolve the issues of water supply in the district soon.

The DC said that Ramban district is currently celebrating JJM Fortnight with the aim of raising awareness about the Jal Jeevan Mission Programme. The District Administration has deputed senior officers to review ground status of Jal Jeeven Missions schemes in all 143 panchayats of the district.

Extending his gratitude to PRIs for their cooperation in development of the panchayats besides taking part in JJM fortnight, the DC asked them to join hands with the Jal Shakti team to achieve the targets of FHTC for successfully and timely implementing all water supply schemes. 

 The Executive Engineer said that Gram Sabhas are to be held in several blocks, with participation of members of Pani Samitis and the locals. They are being educated about their roles and responsibilities in the JJM program, with the goal of empowering them to take ownership of the scheme in the future.
