J&K BJP Chief expresses condolences over passing of Surankote candidate Syed Mushtaq Bukhari
Poonch (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], October 2 (ANI): BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir President Ravinder Raina on Wednesday expressed his condolences over the passing of the party’s Surankote candidate Syed Mushtaq Bukhari.
Speaking to ANI, Raina said, “Syed Mushtaq Bukhari Sahab was a big politician. The entire J&K, especially Rajouri-Poonch, has faced a great loss due to his departure from this world. The entire J&K is saddened. He always stood with the poor and helpless. He dedicated his entire life to the service of the people.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed his condolences to Bukhari’s family, saying, “The entire J&K and the country stand with Syed Mushtaq Bukhari Sahab’s family.”
Bukhari, from constituency 88, passed away in Surankote in Poonch district on Wednesday at the age of 75.
Earlier in the day, Raina, expressing condolences on X, posted, “Shocked and deeply pained to hear about the demise of a political stalwart and BJP candidate from Surankote Assembly constituency, Jenab Sayeed Mushtaq Bukhari Sahib. This is an irreparable loss to the whole of society in Rajouri and Poonch. I express my heartfelt condolences.”
Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister, also took to social media X to express his condolences on the death of the politician. “I express my condolences on the sudden demise of BJP leader Mushtaq Bukhari ji,” his post read.
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also expressed condolences.
Mufti wrote on X, “Saddened to know about the death of Syed Mushtaq Bukhari Sahab. May Allah Ta’ala grant him Jannat and give his family strength to bear this loss.”
In his condolence message, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said, “Very sorry to hear about the death of senior BJP leader Mushtaq Bukhari earlier today. His death is a loss to his party and the Pahadi people whose cause he pleaded. May Allah grant him a place in Jannat. My condolences to his family.”
