J&k Congress holds strong protest over Adani issue, land evictions
JAMMU, February 6: As part of nationwide protest call, the JK Congress today held a strong protest demonstration over the Adani issue , seeking a JPC Or SC monitored probe into the issue. The protestors also raised slogans against the evictions of poor and small farmers by JK administration.
Led by JKPCC Chief Vikar Rasool Wani alongwith Working President Raman Bhalla and other senior leaders, hundreds of Congress workers belonging to different frontal wings took out a strong protest from Shaheedi Chowk towards LIC/SBI offices in Shalamar but a heavy contingent of police had a tough time to stop the congressmen to proceed further from Residency Road.
Raising slogans and carrying playcards seeking JPC probe or SC monitored probe into the Adani issue, the Congress Leaders and workers blamed the Modi government of maintaining silence over the sensitive issue of poor people’s money in banks and LIC being drained out to favour some blue eyed of the BJP government.
They said that Shri Rahul Gandhi has always cautioned the nation about the approach of the Modi government to promote some blue eyed investors and industrialists close to BJP and those things are coming out clearly that his assertions were true. The poor people’s money is not safe in the banks & LIC, they alleged demanding high level probe.
The Congress workers continued strong protest for around one hour and were prevented forcibly from proceeding towards Raghunath Bazar and Shalamar Chowk side.
