J&K DEERS-EIACP Hub organizes Plantation event under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ & ‘Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam’

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 10: In a significant step towards environmental conservation, the J&K DEERS-EIACP Hub today successfully organized a ceremonial plantation event under the initiatives ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and ‘Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam’.


The event was held at two locations viz. the Eco Rosary Environmental Park SDA Colony, Bemina, and the official complex of the Department of Ecology, Environment & Remote Sensing (DEERS).


Students from Iqra Educational Institute, alongside DEERS officers and officials, actively participated in the event, demonstrating their commitment to the green cause. The plantation drive aimed to raise awareness about the importance of trees and foster a culture of environmental responsibility within the community.


Rafi Ahmad Bhat Regional Director, Kashmir extended heartfelt thanks to all the participants, school administration for their cooperation and support. He also expressed gratitude to the Territorial Division Ganderbal for their generous provision of Deodar (Cedrus deodara) saplings, which were integral to the success of the event.


The event also featured a pledge ceremony, where participants vowed to uphold environmental stewardship and contribute to ongoing conservation efforts.
