J&K Dharmarth Trust holds Trustees, Council Meeting in Jammu
Major Renovation Projects of Shiv Temple Gulmarg, Rani Samadhis Complex, Shiv Temple Pahalgam & Ranbireshwar Temple Completed This Year
JAMMU, October 23: A meeting of the J&K Dharmarth Trust Council was held today under the esteemed chairmanship of Hon’ble Chairman Trustee, Dr. Karan Singh Ji, in Jammu.
The meeting was attended by Trustees Vikramaditya Singh, M.K. Ajatshatru Singh, Ranvijay Singh, and Martand Singh, along with the President of J&K Dharmarth Trust, Brig. R.S. Langeh (Retd.), Council members Padma Shri Prof Vishwa Murti Shastri Ji, S.M. Sahni, Ar. Vishal Abrol, and Sunil Trakru and Ashok Kumar Sharma (IPS Retd.), Secretary of the Trust.
During the meeting, President of the Trust briefed the Trustees and Council members about the various activities, developments, and renovation projects undertaken by the Trust for temples under its administration. He highlighted the significant development works completed during the first two quarters of the financial year, including the restoration and reconstruction of the Shiva Temple in Gulmarg, Shiv Temple Pahalgam, the Rani Samadhis complex, and the iconic Ranbireshwar Temple.
The President also presented the half-yearly budget of the Trust and secured approval for the expenditures incurred so far, as well as for the projected costs associated with ongoing projects.
The Council members actively participated in the discussions, expressing their confidence in the efforts undertaken by the Trust for the overall upkeep of its assets. Special mention was made of the excellent renovations carried out at Raghunath Ji Temple Jammu, Ranbireshwar Temple, Shree Raghunath ji Temple Sui Simbli, Sudh Mahadev, Mantalai Temples, Shankaracharya Temple, and Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple in Srinagar.
The Council Members collectively resolved to prioritize the development and upliftment of Shree Ranbir Sanskrit Mahavidalaya, Birpur, which has recently been affiliated with Sanskrit University, New Delhi. This was identified as the next major project, underscoring the Trust’s commitment to education and community welfare. This initiative aims to promote Sanskrit and Vedic studies, fostering a deeper understanding of ancient knowledge systems while preserving cultural heritage.
Expressing his satisfaction with the progress made, Dr. Karan Singh appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Trustees and the administration. He emphasized the importance of continuing to work relentlessly and with utmost sincerity, not only to enhance the image of the Dharmarth Trust but also to ensure the well-being of its employees.
He concluded by encouraging all members to remain steadfast in their efforts to preserve and promote the rich cultural and religious heritage of Jammu & Kashmir through the Trust’s initiatives.
