J&K police seize properties of drug peddlers in Katra, Reasi
In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Reasi Police attached property worth approximately Rs. 50 lakh belonging to two drug peddlers under Operation Jeevandan. The action comes under Sections 68(E) and (F) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act) 1985.

The attached property includes a residential house with two shops, a car, and cash amounting to Rs. 3,06,000. The investigation, led by PSI Rajat Sahani under the supervision of senior officers, revealed that the property was acquired through illegal drug trafficking.
The accused, Munish Kumar and Prem Kumar, residents of village Serwad in Reasi district, were allegedly involved in multiple drug-related cases registered at Katra Police Station. These cases included FIR No. 144/2020, FIR No. 244/2022, and the most recent FIR No. 43/2024, all registered under various sections of the NDPS Act.
The Reasi Police have hailed this action as part of their ongoing efforts to eradicate the drug menace from the district. Locals have also commended the initiative, appreciating the police’s commitment to dismantling the financial structures supporting drug trafficking.
