J&K police seize properties worth crores of absconding gangster in Akhnoor
In a significant development, the Jammu & Kashmir Police on Thursday attached property worth crores of rupees belonging to a gangster absconding arrest in the Akhnoor subdivision of Jammu district.
The accused, identified as Mukesh Kumar alias Gesha, is a resident of Akhnoor and has been evading arrest for a long time. According to police reports, Kumar is a habitual offender with a history sheet at the Akhnoor police station. A PSA warrant was issued against him by the Jammu district magistrate, but he has been actively avoiding authorities.

On Thursday, a joint team led by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Sharma, SHO Akhnoor Tariq Ahmed, and Tehsildar Akhnoor Naresh Kumar, under the supervision of SP Rural Brijesh Sharma, initiated proclamation proceedings. As part of the action, immovable property measuring 4 kanals of land in Khasra no. 901 Gurha Jagir, belonging to Mukesh Kumar, was attached. The order was affixed to the property and displayed prominently in various locations across Akhnoor.
