J&K Pollution Control Committee conducts public hearing at Khatri Palce Vijaypur
SAMBA, April 10: Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Committee today conducted public hearing for the Environmental Clearance of Minor Mineral (River Bed Material) Block 1/5 Devak River upstream Railway Bridge Samba and Block 1/11 Devak River Downstream NH1A Samba, at Khatri Place, Near Railway Crossing, Village Thalori, Vijaypur.
A large number of the people and public representatives including Chairman, Municipal Committee Vijaypur, Ganesh Dutt Sharma, Sarpanches/Panches of the adjoining Panchayats of Gurahslathia, Thalori Brhamana and public from Vijaypur town participated in proceeding.
During proceeding of public hearing, Deepak Abrol, Divisional Officer, JKPCC, Samba (South) briefed the public about the importance of conducting public hearing and Role of JKPCC.
The Project consultant from M/s Vitasta Enviro Service Pvt Ltd., Jaipur gave the details about salient features and Environmental impact Assessment (EIA) & Environment management plan of the project.
All the related issues were discussed and queries raised were answered by the project consultant.
Naib Tehsildar, on behalf of Additional Deputy Commissioner and District Mineral Officer, Samba, also attended the public hearing and addressed the gathering & assured that all the important issues/ concerns raised by project affected people have been recorded by videography and will be incorporated in the report to be submitted to Competent Authority.
Narayan Thakur (Field Inspector) JKPCC, Kathua and Draftsman Subash Chander of JKPCC also attended proceeding of the public hearing.
