J&K Pollution Control Committee conducts Public Hearing at Village Pangdour Samba
SAMBA, JUNE 13: Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control committee today conducted a public hearing at Village Pangdour, Samba for the Environmental Clearance of Minor Mineral (River Bed Material) Block 2/4 and Block 2/6 Downstream NH1A bridge Basanter River. People of Panchayat Pangdour and adjoining area, their public Representative, Sarpanches/Panches and reputed persons of the area participated in the proceeding.
During the proceedings of the public hearing, AB Jandiyal (AEE), representing Regional Director, JKPCC Jammu, briefed the public about the importance of conducting public hearing & Role of JKPCC.
Project consultant from M/s P&M Solution, Noida (UP) gave the details about salient features and Environmental impact Assessment (EIA) & Environment management plan of the project. All the issues related to mining were discussed and many queries were raised by various speakers during proceedings.
Mohd Sayeed, District Mineral Officer, Samba and Mohit Gupta (Tehsildar), representing Deputy Commissioner Samba, also attended the public hearing and addressed the gathering & assured that all the important issues/ concerns raised by project affected people are recorded by vediography & will be incorporated in the report to be submitted to the Competent Authority. Deepak Abrol Divisional Officer JKPCC, Samba (South) also briefed the public about the public hearing/ Environment Clearance individually and also replied to queries raised by the public during the proceeding.
Subash Chander (Draftsman) JKPCC, Samba (South) anchored proceedings & presented vote of thanks to the chair as well as all the participants.
