J&K youth eagerly waiting for Bharat Jodo Yatra: Uday Chib
UDHAMPUR, Jan 6: President JKPYC Uday Bhanu Chib along with Navneet Kour IYC Secretary, Manpreet Singh IYC Joint Secretary and Kishan Bhagat DCC Udhampur today reviewed arrangements for the upcoming Bharat Jodo Yatra which is reaching Jammu and Kashmir on January 22, 2023.
In this connection, a preparatory meeting was held at Udhampur to review preparations for the upcoming Yatra. The Youth Congress leaders deliberated upon the planning and implementation for the smooth conduct of the Yatra. They also interacted with local members to discuss the preparations. Amir Banday, General Secretary JKPYC, Navneet Thakur President DYC Udhampur and Abhay Sandhu Working President DYC Udhampur were also present.
Uday Chib, in his address, termed the Bharat Jodo Yatra as a historic movement and said that people of Jammu are eager for their welcome. He said that preparations are going well for the Yatra and it is being ensured that the Yatra will sail smoothly when it comes to the region. He asserted that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are eagerly waiting to join the Yatra.
Uday Chib maintained that the Bharat Jodo Yatra is being carried out to fight against the divisive ideology. “The Yatra is not an opportunity for speeches. People from various social groups, including farmers, dalits, Adivasis, women and retired army personnel, walk and meet with Gandhi who listens to their problems. The yatra has been taken out to understand the concerns of the people and it is not an event but a movement and it will continue, he asserted and claimed that today the country is witnessing a direct fight between two ideologies, one represented by the BJP and the RSS, and the other by the Congress.
“The Yatra is not for uniting the opposition but the unity of the opposition can be an outcome of the yatra. If the Congress is strengthened, the unity of the opposition will be strengthened. A weak Congress cannot strengthen the unity of the opposition,” Chib added.
Navneet Kour in her address emphasized that the Yatra will receive the same response in Jammu Kashmir as received by the Yatra in other parts of the country. She asserted that the Indian National Congress is the only party which can work in the interest of the country and the state. The historic work done by the party is a legacy the party still carries. Bharat Jodo reflects the same spirit of sacrifice and unity. Rahul Gandhi was taking up the ‘padayatra’ for about 3,500 km to awaken the youth to protect the country’s unity in the wake of attempts being made to bring differences within the society, she added.
Kishan Bhagat DCC Udhumpur said that elaborate arrangements are being made to make the Bharat Jodo Yatra a grand success in J&K. He said Rahul Gandhi, through Bharat Jodo Yatra, has been raising a voice against the politics of division, rising unemployment, and problems being faced by the farmers and other weaker sections. The people of the country have united against hatred and decided to walk on the path of love,” he said.
