JKAACL organises Multilingual Mushaira on patriotism

JAMMU, AUGUST 29: In connection with celebrations of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organised a Multilingual Mushiara  here in the K. L. Saigal Hall .

The programme was organized in connection with the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign to recall the sacrifices of war heroes and pay a poetic tribute to them. About 30 poets from six languages like Hindi, Dogri, Kashmiri, Punjabi, Gojri and Pahari  presented their poems on the theme.

Secretary JKAACL, Bharat Singh welcomed the Guests and the dignitaries. In his welcome address, he said that the main thought behind organizing this program was to show what the importance of this Day in our lives is. In ancient days our Country was known as the Golden sparrow and what happened to this country, the people here had to suffer cruelty or unjust acts of exploitation, oppression and the wrongdoing of slavery. And after a lot of struggle for Independence our country got Independence. Now we have our own constitution. Today’s programme is dedicated to all those people who had sacrificed for this freedom.

Jb. Ahmad Shanaswas the chief Guest on the occasion while Prof. Rajkumar presided over the function.

Shanas congratulated the Academy for organizing such programs. He said that JKAACL has come alive since Sh. Bharat Singh has taken over as the Secretary of this prestigious institution. He said he knows how to take JKAACL to its heights. Prof Rajkumar in his precedential address said that such a program gave him the opportunity to listen to so many thoughts at one place.

After the welcome speech Multilingual Mushaira began in which renowned writers/ poets along with young writers presented their poetry in Hindi Dogri, Punjabi, Urdu, Pahari and Gojri.

The writers  included Sahil Badyal (Dogri), Mtr. Zahida Khanum(Gojri), TahirMohamad (Pahari), Heena Mahaian (Hindi), Bhupinder Singh Bhargav (Punjabi), Dr. Liayaqat Jafri (Urdu), Aiay Singh (Dogri), Bilal ZamZam (Goiri), Sadeeq Ahmed Sidiqui (Pahari), Nitish Dev Seeman (Hindi), Balvinder Singh Deep (Punjabi), Pankai Sharma (Dogri), Saddam Saraf (Gojri),Gursaran Singh (Punjabi), Rattan Sehgal (Dogri), Usha Kiran Kiran (Dogri), Ahmed Shanas (Urdu), Krishan Kumal Sharma (Hindi), Bachan Bharti (Punjabi), Brij Mohan (Dogri), Anil Sehgal (Hindi), lndu Bhushan Bali (Hindi), Dildar Mohan (Kashmiri), Farid Ahmed, Raiinder Aghosh (Kashmiri), Ghulam Sarwar Chouhan (Goiri), Amin Banihali (Urdu)

The proceedings of the programme were ably conducted by Reeta Khadyal, assistant Editor, JKAACL.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Dr. Shahnawaz, Editor cum Cultural officer, Gojri, JKAACL.
