JKAACL’s 04-Day Music Festival commences at Abhinav Theatre Jammu
Jammu, Dec 27: The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL), under the guidance of Shri Bharat Singh (JKAS), Secretary (JKAACL), has successfully inaugurated the four-day Music festival at Abhinav Theatre, JKAACL premises, in Jammu. More than 75 artists from across the region are performing at the event. The first day of the festival was primarily dedicated to Dogri music.
At the outset, the programme was traditionally inaugurated with the lamp-lighting ceremony. Retd. DSP Dilip Singh Billoria; Shri Bharat Singh (JKAS), Secretary (JKAACL); Shri Janak Khajuria, a veteran radio, television and theatre actor,Dr. Shahnawaz, Editor cum Cultural Officer facilitated the lamp-lighting ceremony.
After the inauguration ceremony, Shri Bharat Singh (JKAS), Secretary JKAACL, gave a heartfelt welcome to everyone. While addressing the audience, he extolled the significant contribution of the music, in general, to society; he further affirmed that JKAACL, with support from the people of Jammu & Kashmir, shall continue to work towards its endeavours aimed at the promotion of culture both in the Jammu and the Kashmir region.
Marina Jamwal, Shri Sham Manyal, Ramesh Chander and Suraj Singh graced the event and spellbound the audience with their musical renditions .They were equally supported by the team of renowned musicians of the region like Kamal Sharma, Dholak; Anil Raina, Flute; Amarjeet Singh, Violen; Sahil Jasotra, Tabla; and Chandan Kumar, Synth. Bindiya Tickoo conducted the proceedings on the inaugural day of the Music Festival.
On Wednesday, 28th December 2022, the JKAACL predominantly dedicates the second day of the Music festival to the regional, Punjabi, and Sufi music. The audience enthusiastically relished the grandeur of the musical expression. The Cultural Academy’s effort in promoting cultural sensitivities is receiving laud from the art and culture connoisseurs of the region.
