JKEDI covers 4229 unemployed youth during 90 awareness Programs held in June: Director JKEDI
Urges DNOs to further intensify awareness drive across UT
JAMMU, JULY 02: Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) has conducted 90 awareness programs covering 4229 unemployed youth and students from across the UT of J&K in the month of June.
While reviewing the monthly performance of the district centres of the institute, Director JKEDI, Rajinder Kumar Sharma said all District Nodal Officers had been directed to enhance their efforts and reach out to the unemployed youth and students enrolled in various educational and vocational training institutes across the Union Territory.
“The institute has conducted a comprehensive mass awareness drive aimed at empowering and guiding the youth towards entrepreneurship across all districts of the Union Territory. This initiative, which started on June 01, spanned several weeks and targeted over 4,229 unemployed youth and students enrolled in various colleges and ITIs,” said Director JKEDI.
The primary objective of the drive in the form of Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs (EAPs) was to foster entrepreneurial spirit among the youth by providing them with essential knowledge, skills, and resources needed to start and sustain their own ventures. Through a series of workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions, participants were introduced to various aspects of entrepreneurship, including ideation, business planning, financial management, and marketing strategies.
“A special focus of these awareness programs was on the J&K Startup Policy and registrations under this newly formulated initiative to boost startup culture in the UT,” Director JKEDI added. He urged the officers to continue and further intensify the drive in the month of July.
“The overwhelming response and enthusiastic participation from the youth underscored the success of the initiative, with many expressing their intent to pursue entrepreneurial endeavors and contribute to the economic landscape of Jammu & Kashmir,” he further added.
On the occasion, the Director also reviewed the overall functioning of the district offices of the institute with respect to the repayments and recovery of loans under different self-employment schemes.
The meeting was attended by the concerned Range Officers, District Nodal Officers of JKEDI and In-charge officers of the concerned sections from across the UT of J&K. The Director appreciated the top performing district teams and exhorted upon the others to enhance their efforts and complete all targets in designated time.
The Director stressed the importance of a collaborative spirit among JKEDI employees to meet and exceed the expectations set forth in guiding the youth towards successful entrepreneurial endeavors. He highlighted the critical role of teamwork in realizing the institute’s commitment to providing effective guidance and mentorship.
