JKEDI trains 22 women under Tejaswini scheme at Ramban

JAMMU, JUNE 15: A 10-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) under Tejaswini Scheme concluded at Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), District Centre, Ramban today.


The EDP was organized by JKEDI under the overall supervision of Director JKEDI, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, for the aspiring female entrepreneurs of district Ramban under Tejaswini scheme of J&K Mission Youth. Thirty (30) candidates had registered for the EDP out of which 22 candidates successfully completed their training.


During the 10-day EDP, the candidates were apprised and trained about basic business concepts like business plan formulation, marketing plans, accounts management, record keeping, customer management, and other topics of relevance. The program was coordinated by JKEDI District Centre, Ramban while the training was imparted by a team of trainers including Irshad Ahmad Naqshbandi, Assistant Manager Trainings, and Sajad Ahmad Lone, Assistant Faculty.


Officials from the J&K Bank, District Employment and Counselling Centre (DECC), Ramban, Labour Department, Ramban, among others, were also invited as guest faculty to brief the trainees about different aspects of the self-employment scheme – Tejaswani. The training program was modelled for retail and services sector activities. The aspirants were trained for establishment of small business ventures like retail outlets of footwear, readymade, pesticides, electrical goods, cosmetics, DTP centres, boutiques in different areas of district Ramban.


At the valedictory ceremony, District Nodal Officer, Ramban, Nauman Bedar, highlighted the scope of entrepreneurship and self-employment and its contribution towards the economic development of J&K. Assistant Director, DECC Ramban, Amit Kumar congratulated the aspiring female entrepreneurs for taking a timely decision by choosing entrepreneurship as their career choice. He also distributed prizes among the trainees.
