Addressing the Jai Bharat Satyagraha programme, Bhalla said that the entire government machinery is working to save Adani, which is also playing with the country’s security. He said that freedom of expression is being curtailed. People are worried about inflation. “They are unable to even feed their children with milk, the price of cooking gas has crossed Rs 1000, petrol and diesel have crossed Rs 100, the poor villagers are not getting flour and oil. But the Modi government of the country is not worried about it.

Together we will take this struggle forward and win. We need your support to fight a war of freedom and uproot the government that saved the country’s property. Satyagraha is needed to save democracy, because the government sitting at the center is bent on weakening democracy,” he said.

Bhalla reminded the BJP of the massive 2014 Jammu mandate for development and welfare and said that instead of doing a little bit in this regard they pushed the entire region to the wall. The developmental machinery came to a grinding halt and the utility services suffered major jolt due to the self-centred approach of the BJP leaders.”BJP has not understood the idea of Jammu and Kashmir”, Bhalla said while decrying the dubious tactics being employed to hoodwink public opinion. He referred to the bogies being created by the party and said this has neither worked in the past nor will create any magic for BJP in future. He said the upcoming polls will send a terse message to the BJP for pursuing the politics of deceit and hate that has caused enormous damage to the secular fabric of this land of Sufis and Saints.

Bhalla said that while the Jammu and Kashmir Government is spending crores and crores rupees on its publicity to mislead the Union Government, it is the first time in history that the Jammu region is experiencing unprecedented unscheduled power cuts in April.Power cuts are not only confined to unmetered areas but even in the metered areas-where consumers are regularly paying their bills, are experiencing hours-long unscheduled and unprecedented power cuts. With the return of unprecedented power cuts, the Jammu region appears to be plunged into a dark age thanks to insensitive, arrogant bureaucrats at the helm of the affairs. In the last ten days the Jammu region witnessed historic power cuts. For the last two days, many parts of the Jammu region are confronting with unscheduled power cuts after repeated intervals, which is a clear indication that all claims of the authorities are confined only to papers, added Bhalla.

Bhalla said that the Modi government at the Centre is working for its own interests by forgetting the promises made to the public. Our leader Rahul Gandhi is fearlessly working to raise the issues of the people of the country with strength. Through this satyagraha, we will work to take Rahul ji’s message to every house. He said that the country is going through a difficult situation today. Political norms are being violated by the central government itself. The atmosphere to destroy India’s Ganga Jamuna Tehzeeb is created by the BJP and its central ministers wear it.Despite being in power at the Centre and in the State the party failed miserably on governance front and let down Jammu on all fronts”, he said, adding that the BJP has nothing to showcase as its achievement, least to fulfilling liberal promises during elections.

“Not only on the front of development but equally in terms of instilling a sense of confidence among the people, the BJP has desperately failed”, Bhalla said and referred to uncertain political climate prevailing across J&K ever-since this dispensation came into being. He said the BJP ditched each segment of society which feel left out with government nowhere visible on ground. He advised Govt to put its act together and get into operational mode by shunning opportunism and politics of convenience. He slammed the BJP for hoodwinking public opinion by raking up residuary and emotive issues to divert the attention from its failures on all fronts.”The BJP has nothing to offer to the people and therefore it has been shying away from focussing on the core issues”, Bhalla said.

Yogesh Sawhney castigated BJP for indulging in rhetoric and playing unethical politics by scheming against the overall interests of people. He hoped the people have not forgotten the BJP duplicity while expressing confidence that they will put their decisive decision on the day of reckoning. This was discernible by the mood prevailing during the District Development Council polls, he said, adding that this will set a tone for the entire electoral process.   “In fact, the present dispensation has lost the will to govern”, he said, adding that the slogan of development is just a façade, as the major concern of the insensitive govt is how to remain glued to power. He said that the government has lost trust and confidence of the people, who are highly dejected due to misgovernance, nepotism, favourtism and lack of development. He said the present dispensation is scripting a very sad saga of reversing the process of development and pushing J&K to backwards. He slammed Govt  for its insensitivity towards the multitude of problems facing people .

Satish Sharma said the exploitative politics may create euphoria for some time but ultimately the people want better services and their developmental needs fulfilled. These are the areas where the government is finding itself hugely wanting, he observed. He slammed the government for showing intolerance to dissent but remaining inaccessible to people, who find let in lurch. The situation has come to such a passé that nothing is moving due to administrative inertia and lack of political direction, Sharma added.
