He said that the genuine needs of the public should be addressed openly and that they should enable the public to recognise the ruses of the BJP and its divisive policies. He added that the BJP has failed the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the Congress will step in and take charge. He shamed the BJP government for being incompetent in tackling the economic crisis of the country and ignoring the middle class and poor.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said that the BJP has lost the moral right to go to Jammu people after betrayal after betrayal. Former Minister took a dig at BJP over deceits and a failed government in order to highlight the failures and performance of the Modi Government on various fronts, including economy, foreign policy, communal harmony, inflation, farmers’ income, national security, welfare for the Scheduled castes, Scheduled tribes, and other backward classes. “It is not BJP but tireless efforts of Congress party that the people of the J&K are on the path of development and prosperity, ” he said. He said Jammu people are now realizing their mistake committed in 2014 and 2019 as these people who were sent by the voters to raise their voice remained unheard for ten long years. It is hoped that the people of Jammu will surely correct the past mistake and reject such opportunists and exploiters and show them their place in forthcoming parliamentary elections.

Bhalla alleged that the ruling government’s promise of ‘achche din’ (good days) was meant only for themselves or a selected group of industrialists and capitals whose wealth had increased. He criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its unfulfilled promises, stating that these have caused widespread disappointment among the public. He pointed out that the increasing inclination of people towards the Congress party is a direct result of the BJP’s failures. He highlighted the BJP’s apprehension in Jammu and Kashmir, alleging their reluctance to hold Assembly elections due to fear of losing to Congress and its allied parties. He emphasized that the people of Jammu and Kashmir would not tolerate this and that the Congress party is exerting pressure for early elections to establish a democratically elected government. He lamented the pervasive suffering that has engulfed every section of society under the current regime, emphasizing the Congress’s position as the sole alternative to this cycle of hardship. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have now fully recognized the Congress as the only force capable of liberating them from the miseries inflicted upon them by the incumbent government,” Bhalla declared.

Bhalla attributed the resigning from parties like the BJP to the Congress’s unwavering commitment to social justice, equality, and economic development – values that align deeply with the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.“The people of Jammu and Kashmir are eagerly awaiting an opportunity to give befitting reply to the BJP’s misrule in the upcoming elections,” he proclaimed. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi during recent Jammu visit disappointed the people by not spelling out any roadmap for safeguarding the jobs and lands of the permanent residents, granting statehood, addressing the burgeoning unemployment problem, ending developmental inertia and tackling the selective attacks by terrorists in the Valley. Bhalla said the PM continued to remain silent over the promised restoration of statehood to J&K or instilling a sense of confidence among the people about restoration of the democratic process, which stands denied for nearly five years.

Bhalla promised overall development of Jammu and Kashmir without any religious or regional bias if his party was voted to power in the union territory. He said that in the present political uncertainty, his party is the only hope of the people as Congress has never done politics on a religious or regional basis and believe that people deserve equal opportunities with dignity.“We never discriminated between the regions and treated them equally in all manner,” said Bhalla. He said poor governance and lack of accountability in the system is affecting the economy of people which has led to the decline in job opportunities. “Where shall our youth go now? It is our duty to provide them enough employment opportunities but unfortunately nothing such is done,” he said. Appreciating the people of Jammu for building rich secular values, Bhalla said that they should be cautious against all those forces who have no contribution to its development but play petty politics for their personal gains.
