JKRLM staff sensitised about promotion of non-farm livelihood generation at 5-Day workshop
JAMMU, December 08 The five-day long workshop on vision development program for the staff of Jammu Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) concluded here today.
The workshop, aimed to enhance the capacity of officials in implementing non-farm livelihoods generating programs at the block and district levels of JKRLM, was conducted by a team of experts from NRO Kudumbashree, who imparted training on business plan strategies for Self help group (SHG) women to set up their enterprises.
It is to mention here that Jammu Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kudumbashree NRO. This MOU highlights the commitment and collaboration between these organizations to support rural communities in Jammu and Kashmir.
The program, which spanned five days, featured a roadmap to business success, highlighting key aspects such as conceptualization for growth for existing enterprises, growth plan preparation, business fundamentals handholding support to grow businesses, effective monitoring and business planning.
During the workshop, Mission Director JKRLM, Indu Kanwal Chib, shared her valuable insights and guidance. She stressed the importance of building a strong foundation for livelihood development initiatives and highlighted the need for continuous learning and innovation.
She said that “this workshop has been an opportunity for our staff to further enhance their skills and knowledge in implementing non-farm livelihood generating programs and by strengthening our understanding and expertise, we can make a significant positive impact at the grassroots level and improve the lives of rural communities.” She maintained.
She further expressed her gratitude to the Kudumbashree NRO for significantly contributing in understanding the business development and operations. Adding she said “the workshop has equipped the JKRLM staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively implement non-farm livelihoods generating programs. JKRLMs collaboration with NRO Kudumbashree has been highly beneficial, and we look forward to future collaborations”.
Speaking on the occasion Programme Manager Enterprises Domain Kudumbashree NRO, Prashant MP, emphasized upon the participants on exploring the potential areas for enterprise creation by analysing the data pertaining to the business activities in the particular area.
He further mentioned that for creating a sustainable business ecosystem for Self help groups (SHGs )there is a need for continuous support to SHG members viz a viz enterprise creation, focusing at empowering communities for promoting economic growth.
During the five-day long workshop, the staff members were actively engaged in various sessions, including interactive discussions & presentation of business plans of possible enterprises pertaining to different Blocks/Districts.
