JKSDM conducts State Level India Skills Competitions at Institute of Technology, Kashmir University
SRINAGAR, MARCH 13: J&K Skill Development Mission, in collaboration with Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), GoI and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) today kick started the state level competitions of different job roles with the active support of Skill Department J&K, in the UT of J&K.
The competitions in various skill sets are being conducted in collaboration with Academic Partners across the UT.
Among the job roles selected, State Level Competition in skills of Automobile Technology, Electronics and Electrical Installations were organized under the aegis of Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship, Institute of Technology, Zakura Campus University of Kashmir, who were academic partners to JKSDM for the competitions.
The candidates across UT of J&K participated in the state level competition, which will lead them to Pre-National competitions and National level competitions and finally the winner will participate in World Skills Competitions scheduled in Lyon, France later this year.
Such competitions should be given more awareness so that more and more youth participants involved in such initiatives get a chance to showcase their skills, said Dr. Bilal Ahmad Malik, Sr. Scientific Officer, one of the Jury Members for the competition from Kashmir University.
Er.Ubaid Qureshi, another Jury Member from Kashmir University said that such initiatives are insightful and brainstorming for the participants as it can unleash their hidden talent.
JKSDM will continue to organize such initiatives and give opportunity to youth of J&K, State Level Competitions in 18 skill sets are being conducted at various venues across the UT wherein more than 250 candidates will compete to represent J&K in Pre National and National Level Competitions, said Leena Padha, Mission Director, JKSDM.
