JU’s Department of Education organized lecture on the theme “Designing Research”

JAMMU, October 31: P.G.Department of Education under the ages of golden jubilee year celebrations organized discourse  for students of Department of Education on the theme “Designing Research” on 31th October, 2023 by Prof. Lokesh Kumar Verma , former Head and Dean; Department of Education, University of Jammu.

The discourse focused on the process of designing research in educational setting. Research design is a framework of research methods and techniques chosen by researcher to conduct a study. The design allows researchers to sharpen the research methods suitable for the subject matter and set up their studies for success.

While elaborating on the process of research design the topics covered during session were considering aims and approaches, choosing a type of research design, identify the population and sampling method, choosing the data collection methods and planning data collection procedures as well as deciding appropriate data analysis strategies. Prof. Verma also emphasized that the process of research design is a critical step in conducting research and with the steps of research design; researchers can ensure that their study is well-planned as well as ethical.
