JU’s Poonch Campus, RDD Loran organise one day Awareness Camp on ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’
POONCH, March 25: NSS chapter of Jammu University’s Poonch Campus in collaboration with the Rural Development Department, Loran Poonch organised a one day Awareness Camp on Swachh Bharat Mission in Loran, Poonch here today.
The awareness program was part of the ongoing initiatives taken up by the Poonch Campus for the welfare of the people of the border district, Poonch.
BDC member Shameem Akhtar who was the Chief Guest on the occasion congratulated both Poonch Campus and BDO Loran for organizing the awareness program on such an important topic.
She said that for the success of any Scheme, the awareness among the common people is the real mantra.
Director Poonch Campus Prof. Dipankar Sengupta said that by organizing such events, which are directly associated with the common masses, will help and eradicate the problem from district Poonch.
He extended his gratitude to BDO Loran and District Administration for their unending support in organising such event.
Block Development Officer Loran Zamood Ahmed while addressing the gathering said that the active participation of premier educational institute like Poonch Campus in such awareness Camp on Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen will go a long way to create a atmosphere of positivity among the common people about the implementation of Schemes announced by the governments for the benefits of people time to time.
While extending his gratitude towards the Poonch Campus, University of Jammu, BDO Loran thanked Director Poonch Campus Prof. Dipankar Sengupta for collaborating with RDD Loran in organizing the awareness camp on Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen.
“I also want to extend my sincere thanks to Campus Officer Poonch Campus Dr. Rubia Bukhari and Kalpna Sudan NSS Coordinator for her sincere efforts in collaborating and organizing such programs,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Rubia Bukhari Campus Officer underlined the importance of Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen and said that such initiatives will help to aware the people of this hilly district. She thanked Director Poonch Campus for giving the opportunity of the campus.
She said that Prime Minister of India had launched the Swachh Bharat Mission on 2nd October 2014. “Under the mission, all villages, Gram Panchayats, Districts, States and Union Territories in India declared themselves “Open-Defecation Free” (ODF) by 2 October 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, by constructing over 100 million toilets in rural India,” She informed.
NSS Coordinator Poonch Campus said that the main motto of this campaign is to spread awareness regarding cleanliness and develop healthy habits among people. “This awareness Campus jointly organized by Poonch Campus and RDD Loran will definitely help to aware the people of this region about the importance and benefits of the Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen,” She added.
Mr. Surinder Kumar Principal HSS Loran and Mr. Nazakat Hussain Shah V/P/Lecturer HSS Loran also shared their views about the importance of Swachh Bharat Mission. They further expressed their gratitude towards Director Poonch Campus and BDO RDD Loran for organizing such awareness camps.
I/C Department of Sericulture Dr. Suraksha Chanotra, said on the occasion that cleanliness is the only solution to stay away from diseases.” She gave a lecture on various aspects of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Students from the Department of Sericulture Poonch Campus Saima, Simran, Ajay, Nitish, Shivali, Kajal Bindiya, Sakshi, Rabia, Nuzat, Khair un nnisa, Chail, Sonia, Shaista, took part in this camp and delivered the topic on SBM. They expressed their views about the importance of Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen.
Present on the occasion were Sarpanch’s; Ajaz Ahmed Tantary Palera A Khalil Ahmed Sarpanch, Moh. Rafiq Sarpanch, Bashir Kamran Sarpanch Loren A and Panch of Loran block, Officials of Police Department HC Anwar Hussain PS Loran ASI Mohd. Ramzan PS Loran, officials from Indian Army, officials of RDD Loran, Students and non teaching staff of Poonch Campus. Besides this more than 300 people from Loran and its adjoining areas attended the Campus.
