Justice Suresh Kumar Kait becomes new Chief Justice of MP High Court; Governor administers oath

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 25 (ANI): Justice Suresh Kumar Kait was sworn in as the 28th Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Wednesday, with Governor Mangubhai Patel administering the oath. The ceremony took place at the Sandipani Auditorium, Raj Bhavan, in Bhopal. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav was also present at the event. Justice Kait will officially assume his duties on Thursday.

After the swearing-in, Governor Patel and CM Yadav congratulated the newly appointed Chief Justice by presenting him with a bouquet.

The ceremony was conducted by Chief Secretary Veera Rana, who read out the notification issued by President Droupadi Murmu, appointing Justice Suresh Kumar Kait of the Delhi High Court as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

The official X account of the Madhya Pradesh Governor posted: “Governor Mangubhai Patel administered the oath to the 28th Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court, Justice Suresh Kumar Kait, at the Sandipani Auditorium, Raj Bhavan. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav was also present.”

Extending his wishes, CM Yadav also wrote on X: “Today, Governor Mangubhai Patel administered the oath to the newly appointed Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court, Justice Suresh Kumar Kait at Raj Bhavan. I extend my best wishes to him.”

CM Yadav hosted a lunch in honour of the newly appointed Chief Justice. Following the ceremony, Justice Kait visited the Chief Minister’s residence, where he was welcomed with a bouquet.

According to an official release, Justice Kait hails from the Kaithal district in Haryana. He has served as a judge since April 12, 2013. Prior to this appointment, he served in the Delhi High Court from October 12, 2018, and in the Telangana High Court from April 12, 2016, to October 11, 2018.
