Justice Tashi celebrates Teachers Day at Bal Niketan Jammu
JAMMU, September 05: To commemorate the celebrations of Teachers Day and International Day of Charity, DLSA Jammu in collaboration with Global Peace Organization organized an awareness cum felicitation function at Bal Niketan Ved Mandir, Amphalla here.
Justice Tashi Rabstan, Judge, High Court of J&K and Ladakh and Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Tashi highlighted the importance of Teacher’s day and recalled the self-less services rendered by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as a Philosopher, Scholar, Vice Chancellor of different Universities, first Vice president and Second President of Independent India. Justice Tashi impressed upon the students to follow the path shown by their teachers in order to prosper in life.
Giving details about the celebration of International Day of Charity, Justice Tashi said that to acknowledge the services rendered by one of the greatest philanthropist of the modern world namely Mother Teresa, the United Nation General Assembly passed a resolution in the year 2012 to celebrate 5th September every year as International Day of Charity and since then this day is observed in the whole world as such.
Justice Tashi remarked that the best way for a teacher to do charity is by imparting education and knowledge those children who are unable to get education, because of poor economic conditions. While congratulating the teachers of the Ved Mandir on being awarded Commendation certificates in recognition of their services, he urged them to work tirelessly to ensure that the children living in the said home are not left behind in this world, where competition is becoming tough day by day. He also hoped that the management and the staff of the Ved Mandir shall continue its great work which this institution is doing for more than a century.
Principal District & Session Judge (Chairman, DLSA Jammu), Sanjay Parihar, in his welcome address gave a brief account of the purpose of organizing such an event at Bal Niketan to celebrate Teachers Day and International Day of Charity.
During the programme, Commendation Certificates were distributed among the teaching and non-teaching faculty of the Ved Mandir in recognition of the contributions made by them towards the lives of inmates of the said home. Justice Tashi also distributed appreciation certificates and gifts amongst the meritorious children.
The inmates on the occasion also performed Ved Vandana.
Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority, Amit Kumar Gupta; Secretary DLSA Jammu, Smriti Sharma; Shafiq Ahmad, President Global Peace Organization alongwith other office bearers, Panel Lawyers, members of Child Welfare Committee Jammu and Para Legal Volunteers were also present on the occasion.

Secy Revenue Deptt, senior officers attend camps across J&K
SRINAGAR SEPTEMBER 05: Secretary, Revenue, Dr. Piyush Singla, along with senior officers from the department, virtually participated in various Tehsil level camps organized as part of the Bhrashtachar Mukt Week across Jammu and Kashmir.
The officers engaged with District and Tehsil level officers to assess the effectiveness of information dissemination and grievance redressal efforts. They also gathered valuable feedback on Revenue Online Services from the beneficiaries attending the camps.
Dr. Singla attended camps held in different parts of District Pulwama, where he interacted with Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Basharat Qayoom and other senior officers from the District and Tehsil Administration.
During these discussions, the Secretary addressed important issues like status of online services, pending cases under PSGA, and the progress of the Auto Appeal system.
The Secretary emphasized on the implementation of e-office as it is a top priority for the Government, and the District must ensure its full implementation on the ground.
The camps witnessed enthusiastic participation from the public, and beneficiaries from various camps had the opportunity to directly interact with the Secretary, providing valuable feedback on service delivery.
Similarly, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza, Special Secretary Revenue, along with Additional Secretaries from the department, attended camps in Kishtwar, Doda, Budgam, and Baramulla. They engaged with District and Tehsil level officers and assessed the level of participation in the camps, feedback regarding online services and grievance redressal.
It is worth mentioning that Revenue Department has been actively engaging with officers and the public from various Tehsils, including the ongoing attendance at BMW camps. These interactions are scheduled to continue throughout the week, with the aim of covering all Tehsils in the UT and ensuring effective grievance redressal and feedback.
