Jyotirlinga Ramkatha train yatra marks another milestone in Morari Bapu’s devotional journey

The yatra travelled to all 12 jyotirlingas, some of the most sacred sites in Hinduism, in just 18 days.

The Ramkatha received an overwhelming response from followers throughout the 12,000+ km journey. Talgajarda (Mahuva) [India], August 9: The profound and unique Jyotirlinga Ramkatha train yatra, led by noted spiritual leader and kathakaar Morari Bapu, reached Talgajarda village in Bhavnagar’s Mahuva taluka on Tuesday, marking yet another significant milestone in his extraordinary devotional journey. The remarkable yatra during the holy Shravan month encompassed all 12 Jyotirlingas, the sacred abodes of Lord Shiva and among the most revered sites in Hinduism, giving 1,008 devotees a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to complete the spiritual journey in just 18 days.

The spiritual journey, which commenced on July 22 from Kedarnath Jyotirlinga in Uttarakhand, reached Talgajarda on Tuesday. Traversing over 12,000 km, the yatra journeyed through Vishwanath Jyotirlinga in UP, Baidyanath Jyotirlinga in Jharkhand, Mallikarjun Jyotirlinga in Andhra Pradesh, Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga in Tamil Nadu, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga, Trambakeshwar Jyotirlinga, and Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga in Maharashtra, Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga and Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga in Madhya Pradesh, and Somnath Jyotirlinga in Gujarat. In addition to the Jyotirlingas, the train journey also stopped at the three Dhams of Jagannath Puri, Tirupati Balaji, and Dwarka.

Throughout the yatra, Morari Bapu mesmerised followers with his unique style of presenting teachings from the Ramcharitmanas in a relatable and meaningful manner. He stressed the pursuit of divine knowledge, the significance of devotion, and the ultimate goal of attaining spiritual liberation.

The 12,000 km train journey in just 18 days from July 22 to August 8 showcased Morari Bapu’s dedication to spreading Lord Rama’s teachings and his exceptional storytelling prowess.
Speaking at Talgajarda on Tuesday, Morari Bapu expressed happiness that with the Lord’s blessings, the Jyotirlinga Ramkatha yatra had remained free of any untoward incident and also achieved its objective of promoting unity, showcasing the country’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage, and serving as a bridge between devotees from diverse backgrounds and regions. He expressed his gratitude to all the volunteers who had contributed to making the yatra a successful one.

During the yatra, Morari Bapu was repeatedly asked the reasons for not beginning the yatra from Somnath, the first Jyotirlinga in Gujarat. In response, Morari Bapu compared the Ramkatha to the Ganga, which flows from the mountains before finding its way into the sea.
“Much in the same way, we planned the Jyotirling Ramkatha yatra to start from the mountains in the Himalayas and spread its divine messages throughout the country before reaching Somnath,” he explained.

The Jyotirlinga Ramkatha yatra also effectively bridged the gap between Shaivism and Vaishnavism, the two prominent sects of Hinduism by emphasising the harmony between Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and the Jyotirlingas, which represent Lord Shiva, and showcasing the interconnectedness of these divine forms. The yatra provided devotees with a rare opportunity to experience the divine energy associated with some of the holiest sites in the country and deepen their spiritual connection. Undertaken during the sacred month of Shravan, including Adhik Shravan, added to the spiritual sojourn’s reverence.

The yatra created a joyous and festive atmosphere onboard the special trains as devotees came together to chant prayers, sing hymns and participate in various religious rituals, creating a vibrant and positive mood throughout the journey. The journey served as a transformative experience for the devotees, deepening their spiritual connection. They also had the opportunity to share anecdotes and testimonials from their earlier experiences with Morari Bapu’s uplifting Ram Katha discourses.

The entire pilgrimage was facilitated by two special trains – Kailash Bharat Gaurav and Chitrakoot Bharat Gaurav Trains – with IRCTC’s support. The trip was sponsored by Rupesh Vyas, an ardent flower of Morari Bapu through the Aadesh Charitable Trust. The Jyotirlinga Ram Katha was yet another significant addition to Morari Bapu’s legacy of undertaking extraordinary endeavours in spreading Lord Rama’s teachings. His previous journeys, including the Vraj Parikrama Katha, Ayodhya to Nandigram Parikrama Katha, and kathas conducted on ships and planes, have left an indelible impact on countless lives. In all, he has conducted over 900 discourses and kathas on the Ramayana across India and around the world.
