Kailash Kund Yatra arrangements discussed in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 23: In preparation for the three-day Annual Kailash Kund Yatra, set to commence on August 30, 2024, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, convened a meeting with officers and civil society members today at Mini Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, Udhampur.


The meeting focused on finalizing the necessary arrangements for the Yatra, which will take place in the Sub-Division Dudu of Udhampur district.


A detailed discussion was held on various key arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra. The deliberations covered the supply of essential commodities, installation of drinking water points at different locations along the route from the base camp at Dudu to Seoj Dhar and the provision of adequate medical care, transport facilities, tents, and blankets. Other essential amenities were also discussed in detail.


It was decided that the Sub Divisional Magistrate Dudu would be appointed as the Nodal Officer to oversee all arrangements from the base camp at Dudu to Kailash Kund. The SDM will also establish a control room at Dudu to ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra.


The DC directed the heads of the concerned departments to ensure that all arrangements are put in place well in advance to avoid any inconvenience to the pilgrims.


The ARTO Udhampur, was instructed to arrange additional buses from different routes leading to Dudu for the convenience of the yatris.


CMO was directed to ensure proper medical facilities for the pilgrims at the base camp and along the route. The CMO was instructed to deploy medical teams at both the base camp and Seoj Dhar to ensure the health and safety of the yatris.
