Karra demands all party meet to discuss the security situation
Sanction full package to refugees, review restrictions on Anshuman Sehat Scheme,ensure adequate water supply – Congress leaders.

Jammu, March 24 : Expressing grave concern over the continued terror related incidents in Jammu region indicating that militancy has spread to various parts of Jammu region in the recent past, JKPCC Chief Shri Tariq Hameed Karra today questioned the Centre Govt. and BJP for its false narratives and asked it to more effectively deal with the situation, to bring complete normalcy .
Addressing a press conference at Party HQ here today JKPCC Chief suggested all party meet over the current situation to more effectively deal with the growing challenge on the militancy front as terrorism has spread and rather shifted in Jammu region more than Kashmir. He referred to various reports of the spotting of terrorists in different parts of the region including the Hiranagar incident since yesterday in which a girl has been injured apart from search operations in other areas in the recent days including the mysterious disappearance and killing of five persons in Kathua Dist. He also expressed concern over the deterioration of the law and order situation in the Jammu City and its nearby districts in the recent times and termed it a serious matter.
He asked Centre Govt. and BJP to come out of the habit of creating a false narrative about the situation claiming that they have brought out complete normalcy while others in the past have not dealt with the situation and rather seek the cooperation and support of all to control the situation and bring normalcy.
Flanked by Working President Shri Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Shri Ravinder Sharma, Former Minister Shri Yogesh Sawhney and Former MLC Shri Ved Mahajan, JK PCC Chief also referred to the burning issues of pending refugees package with the Centre, drinking water situation and daily wagers agitation , difficulties being faced on account of certain Govt. directions regarding stopping certain procedures under Ayushman Bharat – Sehat Scheme in private sector and asked the Govt. to take note of the burning demands immediately.
Working President Raman Bhalla explained the hardships being faced by the patients under the Ayushman Bharat – Sehat Scheme by the recent orders excluding certain surgeries from Private Hospitals like restricted procedures, gal bladder removal, Appendectomy, Pile surgery, Fissure – in-Ano surgery and demanded immediate review besides clearing the pending liabilities of private institutions of around 250 crores under the scheme. He said that common people have to wait for long dates in Govt. Hospitals for these surgeries in absence of private sector, besides the staff in private sector are loosing jobs, so the Govt. must act swiftly.
On the issue of refugees Shri Raman Bhalla and JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Mr Ravinder Sharma questioned the Centre Govt. for the pending package of refugees of,1947,1965,1971 from POJK, Chhamb & west Pakistan and blamed BJP of betrayal and befooling them with sanction of a meagre part of 5.5lac against,30 lac as recommended by Congress NC coalition government, on the initiative of JK Congress as desired by Dr Manmohan Singh government.
Demanding implementation of full package of 2014 as endorsed by JPC besides extending the ongoing package of 5.5 lac, till all registered refugees are covered, they demanded the setting up of an refugees welfare board to sort out multiple issues of the refugees of different categories. Sharma explained that a package for one time settlement was drawn & drafted by the Congress party and submitted to state government on the initiative of Congress high command and PM Dr Manmohan Singh, for recommendation by state government.
A high powered JK Congress delegation led by then President JKPCC Prof Saif ud- din Soz ,accompanied by several senior Congress leaders, ministers & both MPs met the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh,UPA Chairperson and home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, on 22nd July 2012.
Thereafter a comprehensive package was recommended in 2014 to the centre
Comprising one time financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh per family, land deficiency claim, reservation to the wards of refugees of,1947,1965,1971 in technical institutions and in Central para military forces and claims of left out families. This package was endorsed by the joint parliamentary committee of home affairs with recommendation of thirty lac package alongwith few other recommendations.
BJP used to assure refugees so many things and allocation of eight assembly seats to them, before the 2014 elections. However, only 5.5 lac was sanctioned out of it.
That too has not covered all yet but the package is being closed.
Where are other components of the package recommended by Congress- NC government, they questioned the BJP and demanded that full package should be sanctioned to refugees and the ongoing package be continued till all eligible people are covered. Refugees settled outside state should be given financial package.
Raising the issue of daily wagers agitation for their just cause , former Minister Yogesh Sawhney expressed concern over the difficulties faced by the people in Jammu City and its subverbs besides in other rural areas . He said that party supports the demands of the agitating workers and seeks early resolution of their issues as the Govt. has already constituted a committee for the purpose but at the same time more efforts should be pushed in by the administration to resolve the water crises faced by the people. He demanded more tanker services by the Govt. to meet the demands of the more affected localities for relief to the people and meets their needs of drinking water. The party also welcomed the constitution of the house committee to look into the irregularities in the JJM.
