Kathua: ACB organises Vigilance Awareness Programme
KATHUA, August 05: The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau organised a sensitisation session on its functioning and the provisions of Anti-Corruption Law/Prevention of Corruption Act at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex. The session was presided over by ADC Kathua Ranjit Singh, with DC State Taxes (Enforcement) Kathua Ranjeet Singh, CPO Kathua, ACD Kathua and other district and sectoral officers in attendance.
Dy. S.P ACB Deedar Singh gave a PowerPoint presentation on the menace of corruption, its impact on society and how it can be eradicated. He also talked about the functioning of ACB, the process of lodging complaints and educated participants about the perils of corruption. He stressed the need to report corruption incidents and become whistleblowers through the online mobile app “SatarkNagrik” and DVO portal.
The team from ACB apprised participants about the significance of observing the day dedicated to generating awareness about tackling corruption and measures needed to adopt at all levels to curb the menace. ADC Kathua Ranjit Singh stressed on the role of education in inculcating moral and ethical values of integrity. He added that the Government has taken various initiatives to ensure transparency and accountability in the governing setup. He appreciated ACB’s efforts in organising such an event to help achieve a corruption-free society.
