Kathua admin hosts auditors session to promote transparency in government offices
KATHUA, NOVEMBER 02: In furtherance of its consistent resolve to fight against corrupt practices, District Administration Kathua, in collaboration with Director General, Audit & Inspections, J&K, on Thursday hosted a Session of Auditors here in conference hall of DC office complex as part of Vigilance Awareness Week.
The event aimed to create awareness about the importance of transparency, integrity, and accountability in public administration. The speakers from Director General, Audit & Inspections, J&K highlighted the detrimental effects of corruption on economic growth, social justice, and the overall well-being of the community.
A special focus was given for adopting fair mechanisms for executing all financial business including purchase through GEM Portal in government offices upholding high level of transparency at all levels.
On the occasion, ADC Kathua Ranjeet Singh impressed upon the participating officers to adopt all the useful insight shared by the team members from DG A&I, J&K on maintaining corruption-free business in government establishments.
Among others, the programme was attended by CPO Kathua, Accounts Officer, Audit and Inspection Department Jammu Devinder Parkash, AAO Derminder Pangotra besides officers and officials of different Government departments.
Pertinently, the district administration has rolled out a calendar of events under which various activities and programmes are being organized in the district to promote ethical practices and vigilant behavior among Government officials and the general public. These activities included workshops, seminars, debates, and poster competitions on topics related to anti-corruption and good governance.
