Kathua admin to improve facilities at New Bus Stand
DC discusses plan with stakeholder departments
KATHUA, February 27: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting of concerned stakeholders here at DC Office Complex to discuss the plan to improve facilities at the new bus stand.
The meeting decided to create better facilities for commuters, besides redressing other issues related to New Bus Stand.
The meeting deliberated on making provision of Sanitation, Toilet Facility, Security, CCTV Surveillance, Passenger Facilitation System/LED Display Panels, Retiring rooms, Drinking Water Facility, Signages and traffic regulation.
Regarding the issue of Sanitation/Cleanliness, the DC directed Municipal authorities to deploy an adequate number of civic staff on shift basis for cleanliness of the Bus Stand. Directions were also passed to ensure installation of signages indicating Separate Entry and Exit Points for the buses so as to avoid traffic congestion.
For Drinking Water Facility, the DC directed XEN PHE to install PSP for the convenience of the passengers.
The DC also directed ARTO Kathua to identify the dark spots or areas requiring lighting facility and share the same with Municipal authorities so as to ensure replacement of incandescent bulbs with LEDs.
The meeting also discussed the seating arrangement to be made at the bus stand and decided to rope in Industrial contribution under CSR.
The meeting was attended by CPO Kathua, XEN PWD Kathua, XEN PHE, XEN PDD and other concerned officers.
