Kathua: General Observer holds meeting with contesting candidates, election agents

KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 17: General Observer Dorje Chhering Negi today chaired a meeting with contesting candidates/election agents at the VC Room of the DC office complex Kathua.


The meeting was held as per the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) guidelines to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections in the district.


Also present at the meeting were Returning Officer, 67-Kathua (SC) Assembly Constituency, Vishav Partap Singh, ARO Vikram Kumar, and Tehsildar Aana Jamwal.


General Observer Dorje Chhering Negi emphasized the importance of strictly adhering to the guidelines and code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI). He urged all political parties to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations throughout the election process, ensuring smooth and fair elections.


The General Observer also assured that the ECI is committed to maintaining neutrality and transparency at every stage of the electoral process. He encouraged party representatives to report any concerns or violations immediately, so appropriate action can be taken.


The General Observer concluded the meeting with a reiteration of the ECI’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the electoral process and ensuring a level playing field for all political parties.
