Kathua Police issue Traffic Advisory regarding Chadwal Bridge damage

KATHUA, 19 July 2023: District Police Kathua issued traffic advisory Chadwal Bridge damage on Wednesday.

“Dear residents and commuters of Kathua.Due to the recent and incessant heavy rainfall in the region, we regret to inform you that the Chadwal Bridge has been damaged. As a result, it poses a potential risk to all vehicles and pedestrians attempting to cross it.”

In light of this situation, the Kathua Police kindly requests your utmost cooperation to ensure everyone’s safety during this period. We urge you to adhere to the following traffic advisory measures:-

1) AVOID CROSSING THE DAMAGED BRIDGE:- Until the necessary repairs have been completed, we strongly advise all motorists and pedestrians to refrain from using the Chadwal Bridge. Please seek alternative routes to your destinations.

2) FOLLOW DIVERSIONS AND SIGNAGE:- Follow the diversions and temporary routes that have been set up by the Kathua police. These detours are designed to facilitate smooth traffic flow and minimize inconvenience.

3) PATIENCE AND CAUTION:- With the bridge’s closure, traffic congestion in certain areas may occur. We request your patience during this time and urge you to drive with caution, keeping in mind the safety of fellow commuters and pedestrians.

4) COMPLY WITH TRAFFIC RULES:- Strictly adhere to all traffic rules and regulations. Avoid speeding, reckless driving etc.
