Kavinder advocates for work-life balance at National Legislators’ Conference in Mumbai
MUMBAI, June 17: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir today recognized the importance of maintaining a work-life balance and advocates for it.
The former deputy chief minister of J&K was speaking on third day of three-day National Legislators’ Conference being held in Mumbai.
Kavinder Gupta, who was the Chairman of the Session today, was addressing the legislators and others on the topic ‘Work-Life Balance-A key to success’.
Addressing the legislators, Kavinder said that balancing professional and personal life is essential for a better life. “It’s evident that work takes precedence over all other things in life, but it’s equally crucial to maintain a healthy work-life balance. However, several individuals struggle to strike a balance between professional and personal responsibilities, leading to an unhealthy lifestyle. The reasons for this could be manifold, from personal ambitions to ever-increasing job obligations, family responsibilities and a lack of planning skills,” he said.
The former Legislator said the political leaders are no exception to this, working long hours and sidelining their personal life to fulfil their work responsibilities. While western leaders take time off for holidays and relaxation, Indian leaders are often criticised for doing so, he said, adding that politicians’ need for mental stimulation and relaxation is essential for their job, and the politicians should try to maintain a balance between both.
Earlier, the third-day of the conference was commenced with the lighting of lamp and photograph with the Bell of Democracy. Dr Anju Upadhyay presented welcome address.
Dr Jagannath Dixit, Lead Speaker and Professor Community Medicine, B.J Medical College Pune, honored Kavinder Gupta for his participation and making aware the Legislators about maintaining a work-life balance.
