Kavinder vouches for fair & timely compensation for acquired lands
Kavinder Gupta, RS Pathania takes stock of public grievances
JAMMU, March 28: While conducting grievance redressal at BJP headquarters, Jammu, Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister, was particular about timely and fair compensation for acquired lands. He was canvassing for land compensation for people affected by 4th Tawi bridge. Award was passed in 2011 but people are still bereft of compensation. He was further dealing with land compensation cases of far-flung areas where lands have been acquired for decades and a penny worth received by people yet. He further focussed on new techniques and best practices as to how we could redress the public issues in a more efficacious way.
Ranbir Singh Pathania, former MLA & J&K BJP Spokesperson, called for reaching out to the last man in the last row while dealing with day-to-day issues of the people. We need to ensure that people and rather ‘last man in last row’ gets best out of these schemes/initiatives. He was critical of the non-start of work on Kirchi to Seoj Dhar. A multi crore road from Dudu-Kirchi to Dhar Seoj was proposed and sanctioned u/PMGSY. Work on the same was also started almost five years back but the same could not be taken up due to some ecological concerns raised by the department of forests. Now that the department of PMGSY in liaison with the department of Forests have identified an alternative location which lessens the length of the road by as many as five kilometers and as many as 500 trees also could be saved. However, the project still hangs midway.
Amongst other general issues pertaining to land encroachments, compassionate appointments, verifications, ex-gratia to accident victims, relief to cross-firing victims, proper convening of Gram Sabhas in Pulwama, drinking water, building permissions, staff shortage, proper voltage electricity, NABARD roads were projected by a number of deputations who called on in the BJP office with references and telephone calls to concerned officials.
Displeasure was expressed regarding appointment of Selected Junior Statistical Assistants (JSAs) . They have been selected and CID verifications performed since almost one year.
Rehbar e Janglats sought to ensure a time bound regularization and against a post having a higher pay scale than that of a Forest Guard.
NYCs called for rolling out a comprehensive regularization policy as well as honorarium.
J&K BJP Media Incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra was also present during the proceedings of the camp.
