Khandwal Panchayat residents sensitized about benefits of Mission Poshan
JAMMU, MAY 24: An awareness camp to educate the locals about the benefits provided under Mission Poshan was today organized by the Office of the CDPO Satwari here in Panchayat Ghar, Panchayat Khandwal. The event was held in collaboration with the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Institutions.
Sonam Aulakh, local Sarpanch, was the Chief Guest. The other dignitaries present in the camp were District Programme Officer, Poshan, Jammu Renu Basin and Block Development Officer, Mandal Kirandeep Kour.
The participants were sensitized about the benefits offered under Mission Poshan through different schemes viz; Supplementary Nutrition Programme, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Ladli Beti, besides services provided to the beneficiaries through the Anganwadi Centres like Health & Nutrition Education, Preschool non-formal education, Referral Checkups, Distribution of Supplementary Nutrition, Health Check Ups, Immunization etc.
The officials encouraged the participants to take maximum benefit of different schemes of Mission Poshan and to adopt healthy lifestyle and sustainable food habits.
The baby care kits and ECCE material were distributed among the Lactating Mothers and the preschool children respectively.
A cultural program was also presented by the field functionaries of Poshan Project, Satwari.
The Child Development Project Officer emphasized the importance of incorporating millets i.e. Shree Ann in the diet being promoted under the aegis of International year of Millets 2023 for overall welfare and wellbeing of the masses.
The food stalls offering local/regional recipes along with ECCE material were also demonstrated in the event to promote the theme.
The event concluded with the Vote of thanks by Sachin Sharma, CDPO Satwari.
