Kisan Sampark Abhiyan: Farmer’s Orientation programme held at Shopian
SHOPIAN, June 28: As apart of Kisan Sampark Abhiyan, a farmer’s orientation programme under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) was organised in 05 Panchayats of the district Shopian, here.
Under this programme, a total of 29 projects have been included that cover every aspect of Agriculture, from Horticulture to Crop and Livestock Husbandry.
These projects are aimed at transforming the agricultural economy of the district and unlocking the exciting potential of the region.
During the programme, farmers are being made aware regarding the benefits from over 47 schemes that will help take agricultural pursuits to the next level, promoting sustainability and commercial viability.
The farmers orientation under Kisan Sampark Abhiyan was started at five venues across five blocks of district Shopian.
The five venues where the programme was held are Pyt Ghar Heff, Urpora-B, Mastpora, Watchi-A and Shirmal.
The Holistic agriculture development programme (HADP) is aimed at training the farmers to apprise them about the holistic interventions/ programmes which are to be implemented under HADP in the coming five years.
The programme was vehemently attended by farmers, mostly unemployed youth and PRI members who lauded the efforts of the department for including all the sects of the society for the overall upliftment of the farmers community.
Online registration of the farmers for the baseline survey was also done on the spot by the Skill Gap Study (SGS) Resource persons of the agriculture and allied departments.
