Kisan Sampark Abhiyan kick started in all 11 blocks of District Poonch
Campaign receives overwhelming response on inaugural day
POONCH, APRIL 24: “Kisan Sampark Abhiyan”– Farmers’ Orientation Program under Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) was today kick started across all the panchayats of district Poonch and witnessed a huge response from farmers of different sectors including horticulture, farming ,dairy sector, Poultry etc.
The 4-month long ‘Kisan Sampark Abhiyan’ will focus on farmers’ orientation, skilling courses for all interventions to ensure that the meticulous plan reaches the fields and prepare the farmers to meet new challenges, explore new possibilities and make farming accessible, profitable and lucrative.
A detailed programme calendar for the first week has been released by District Administration Poonch through the concerned District Nodal Officer (DNO) in which Panchayat wise venue and timing has been given for the ease of access to farmers. The programme will commence on the first three days of every week till it finally concludes in August.

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Poonch Inder Jeet, representatives and resource persons of various departments installed their help desks to provide the farmers with single window access to agriculture schemes of allied departments.
The main focus of the programme is to create awareness among farmers/Self Help Group/Cooperatives on strengthening Agri-Marketing System, Promotion of medicinal/aromatic plants on commercial basis, promotion of Bee keeping and dairy development, fish and trout production, promotion of commercial floriculture, development of fodder resources, organic farming, mushroom cultivations and to publicise farmers’ oriented schemes like PMKSY, PM-KISAN, KCC, IDDS, IPDP, National Livestock Mission, AHIDF, PMKMY and others.
To ensure the success of the ambitious program in the District, the program was conducted in all 11 blocks of the district by the Agriculture and allied departments. Orientation sessions through curated videos for farmers’ education were screened on large screens and projectors which helped farmers to get a lucid understanding of various government interventions.
DDC Poonch, Ch. Abdul Ghani and BDC Chairperson Jameel Ahmed Kohli presided over iangural function at Panchayat Ajote, while District Development Commissioner, Inder Jeet, inspected the Panchayat Bachainwalli in Block Lasana and interacted with the farmers. A large gathering of farmers was seen in all blocks. The programme was presided over by PRIs in most of the panchayats.

The representatives of agriculture and allied departments briefed farmers about modern tools and techniques that have been incorporated in HADP to overcome the prevailing constraints and use different extension methods to motivate the farming community in adoption of proposed interventions in the approved projects.
Beside pamphlets containing information about the program were distributed among farmers.
DC Poonch encouraged the stakeholder departments to take benefit of this mass movement and promote the signature products of the district like Pecannut, Rajma, Maize, Walnut etc besides generating awareness about the schemes of self employment that have been incorporated in HADP to overcome the prevailing constraints and use different methods to motivate the farmers community in adoption of proposed interventions in the approved Projects.
He assured all possible help from District Administration for the successful implementation of the programme in the district to uplift the livelihood of the farming community.
