Kishtwar admin plans array of activities to celebrate 5th UT Foundation Day, Ekta Diwas & Vigilance Awareness Week

KISHTWAR, October 30: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav today said that the District administration has planned an array of activities to celebrate the 5th UT Jammu and Kashmir Foundation Day and Ekta Diwas 2023, scheduled on October 31, 2023.
These significant events, like in other parts of the Union Territory, will be commemorated with great enthusiasm in District Kishtwar, he told media persons here at a press briefing.
The DC gave a detailed account of the celebration activities planned for these important occasions. He emphasized that the festivities will take place at the district headquarters, as well as at panchayat and tehsil headquarters, aligning with the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Home Minister of independent India, celebrated as Unity Day (Ekta Diwas).
The main event is slated to be held on October 31 at Char Chinar, Chowgan Ground Kishtwar commencing at 10:30 AM with the theme Badalta Jammu and Kashmir, Khilta Jammu and Kashmir. It will serve as a platform to showcase the remarkable developmental achievements accomplished in the district & UT as well over the past four years under the theme ‘UT Govt Key 4 Saal Bemisaal.’
Dr. Devansh Yadav earnestly appealed to the people of Kishtwar, as well as members of the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), to actively participate in these celebrations. He emphasized the significance of familiarizing themselves with the government’s milestones and achievements and the initiatives promoting good governance by the UT government. Additionally, he encouraged residents to gain awareness about schemes such as “Mumkin Schemes” and credit-linked schemes for their benefit.
Moreover, DC highlighted that these celebrations will also coincide with the ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week activities across the district, aimed at bolstering the government’s anti-corruption efforts and enhancing transparency and accountability in the system. He called upon the masses to join hands in the collective endeavor to combat the menace of corruption in society and join the week long campaign at panchayats,tehsil and district headquarters.
