Kusht Ashram inmates, PwD voters sensitized about voting rights  at Jammu

JAMMU, APRIL 03: An awareness programme was conducted today at Kusht Ashram Bhagwati Nagar as part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative. The event aimed to educate inmates and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) voters about the electoral process for  Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Dr Vikas Sharma, Nodal Officer SVEEP (ACD Jammu) and Mamta Rajput, Nodal Officer for PwD Voters (District Social Welfare Officer), attended the programme.

 They informed the audience about the Election Commission of India’s efforts to facilitate voter participation, including the availability of various portals for voter registration and information.

The resource person and the SVEEP team briefed the attendees on the facilities provided at polling booths, and the option for postal ballots for home voting.

A similar session was held at Home for the Aged and Infirm, emphasising the importance of voter participation and the commitment to ensure an inclusive electoral process.
