KVK Bandipora organises Awareness/ Tech Demonstration programme at Koota

BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 02: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Bandipora Thursday organized an awareness programme cum technology demonstration programme on Fodder Oats at Koota village of Block Arin, Bandipora.

As many as 68 farmers, farm women and rural youth of the village participated in the event. Farmer-Scientist interaction was held during which experts from KVK held valuable intercourse on farm related activities.

Programme Coordinator KVK Bandipora, Dr Tariq Sultan explained in detail the production technology of fodder oats and its nutritional importance for the livestock. He also elucidated the Kendra’s contributions in the transfer of technologies and skill development of rural youth in the district and stressed upon the need to adopt better Farming practices on the field.

Subject Matter Specialist, Dr Tahir Saleem, while addressing the gathering said the farming community must adopt sustainable practices and climate resilient technologies for better economic returns from the fields.

Later, Fodder Oats variety Shalimar Fodder Oats-1 was distributed among the farmers as a part of the frontline.
