Labour Commissioner reviews provision of ration cards to e-Shram registered workers in B’la

BARAMULLA, AUGUST 10: Labour Commissioner, Charandeep Singh today visited Baramulla and presided over a meeting to assess the progress on the issuance of ration cards to domiciled workers registered on the e-Shram portal.


The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Syed Qamar Sajad; Assistant Labour Commissioner Baramulla, Assistant Director FS&CA, TSOs, various union heads, and other members of the civil society.


The meeting underscored the importance of extending this essential service to all eligible workers, particularly those who are yet to complete their e-KYC processes.
During the meeting, the Labour Commissioner took a thorough review of the cases where the ration cards have not been issued at the TSO level while directing the officials to expedite the efforts to ensure all these leftover cases are resolved promptly.


Charandeep Singh emphasised the need for a meticulous, tehsil-wise identification and facilitation effort to ensure that all workers are registered and provided with ration cards.


To expedite this process, he requested the union heads and the members of the civil society present in the meeting to help officials of the government trace out those cases that are pending at the TSO level.


During the meeting, the ADDC emphasised the roles of TSO and ICDS workers in helping trace out the unidentified cases and directed them to streamline the process of identification and ensure no eligible worker is left without a ration card.
