Labour department organises awareness camp at AIIMS Samba
SAMBA, July 10: The Labour Department Samba today organized a highly informative and impactful awareness camp at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to raise awareness about various labour rights and regulations among the workforce and promote a safe and harmonious work environment.
The awareness camp, organised jointly by Assistant Labour Commissioner Samba and Assistant Labour Commissioner J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, (JKBOCWWB), witnessed an impressive turnout of participants including workers, employers and other stakeholders.
During the awareness camp, participants got the opportunity to engage in interactive sessions led by experts in the field. These sessions focused on a wide range of topics, such as the benefits being provided by JKBOCWWB, minimum wage standards, workplace safety protocols, grievance redressal mechanisms, and the importance of fair employment practices. The aim was to educate and empower the attendees with the necessary knowledge to protect their rights and contribute to a productive and secure work environment.
Speaking at the event, Assistant Labour Commissioner Samba Dr. Amil Khateeb reiterated the commitment of the Labour Department to safeguard the interests of workers and employers alike. “We are dedicated to ensuring that labor laws are effectively implemented, promoting fair practices and maintaining healthy employer-employee relationships,” stated Assistant Labour Commissioner Samba. “By organizing events like this awareness camp, we aim to bridge the information gap and empower individuals with the necessary knowledge to navigate the intricacies of labor laws.”
Assistant Labour Commissioner JKBOCWWB, Brijnesh Kumari expressed her gratitude for the collaboration and stressed the importance of creating a culture of compliance with labor regulations. “Our goal is to foster an environment where labor laws are respected and adhered to by all stakeholders. This awareness camp is a stepping stone towards achieving’. In addition, the Assistant Labour Commissioner Labour Board emphasized the launch of several new schemes designed to benefit workers in various sectors.
The Assistant Labour Commissioner Samba and JKBOCWWB Office are committed to continuing their endeavors to educate and support workers across various sectors, and will actively engage in further awareness camps and outreach programs to promote labor welfare.
Furthermore, Assistant Labour Commissioner Samba, in presence of ALC Jammu & Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB), disbursed Rs. 8 lakh as education assistance to registered construction workers.
