Leh, Mar 30, 2024: The University of Ladakh’s NSS Wing in collaboration with Zero Waste Ladakh (NGO) organised an event to commemorate the ‘International Day of Zero Waste’ at the Leh Campus, University of Ladakh on March 30, today.
The event was aimed to raise awareness about the importance and practice of zero waste in daily life.
It was informed that volunteers from Zero Waste Ladakh delivered insightful presentations on various themes related to zero-waste practices. The topics covered included Ditch Single-Use Plastic, Begin Your Zero Waste Journey in Daily Life and Sustainable Period. These presentations provided valuable insights and practical tips for embracing a zero-waste lifestyle.
The program culminated with a discussion session on fostering a zero-waste campus. Students shared innovative and novel solutions to make the university campus more sustainable and eco-friendly.
The University of Ladakh extends its heartfelt gratitude to Zero Waste Ladakh for their valuable collaboration and to all participants for their enthusiastic engagement in promoting the cause of zero waste.
The event was attended by the NSS Programme Coordinator/Dean of Students Welfare, University of Ladakh Dr. Jigmat Dachen along with other faculty members.
Many NSS volunteers and students also participated in the event.
