Four designers — Hiral Jajal (Hiro), Kunaal Kyhaan (Koytoy), Anugrah Chandra (KoAi), and Rudraksh Dwivedi (Rudraksh Dwivedi) — emerged as the winners of GenNext, one of the most coveted talent discovery programmes.
The shortlisted designers presented their collections to an esteemed jury comprising Harman Dhillon, vice president, Skincare, Color Cosmetics, Hindustan Unilever; Anaita Shroff Adajania, costume & fashion stylist and creative director; Sabina Chopra, GenNext Mentor, and Jaspreet Chandok, head of RISE Fashion & Lifestyle.
Since the inception of the GenNext programme in 2006, Dhillon said, the LFW has been committed to providing new talent an opportunity to be mentored by our experts and a platform to showcase their work as well as interact with different stakeholders within the industry.
“We are excited to see these promising designers present their collections and translate their creative storytelling through fashion and beauty with Lakme’s trend-setting products in synchronicity with their themes.
We look forward to the 35th batch of GenNext designers showcasing at the upcoming edition of Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI,” Dhillon said in a statement.
“We are delighted to continue strengthening our GenNext programme that identifies, mentors, and recognises young designers season on season giving them the opportunity to showcase their work on a global platform like Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI.
“For more than a decade, the GenNext programme has been responsible for introducing 250+ designers, several of whom have gone on to make a mark in the Indian and international fashion industry. Our best wishes to the 4 winners that have emerged out of an extremely talented pool of entries, and we look forward to seeing them shine in the industry in the years to come,” added Chandok.
Following its first edition in Mumbai next month, the LFW will hold its second edition in New Delhi from October 11 to 15.
