Land for job PMLA case: Delhi High Court grants bail to Amit Katyal in PMLA case
New Delhi [India], September 17 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Tuesday granted regular bail to businessman Amit Katyal on medical grounds.
He has been chargesheeted in a land-for-job money laundering case along with former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and other accused.
Former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and former deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav have also been arrayed as accused in the supplementary charge sheet.
Justice Neena Bansal Krishna granted bail to Amit Katyal. A detailed order is yet to be uploaded.
Earlier, he was granted interim bail on medical grounds by the applicant, accused. He was earlier also on interim bail for 84 days on medical grounds.
Senior advocate Vikas Pahwa has appeared for Katyal and argued that petitioner was the only person arrested by the ED.
The probe agency had not arrested the main accused Lalu Prasad Yadav. He was charged sheeted without arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Senior advocate argued.
“Katyal was arrested in November 2023. Since then, he was in custody. He is even a witness in the connected CBI case. His health condition was not good and he had undergone the surgery,” the senior advocate argued.
His bail application was opposed by the counsel for ED who said that petitioner has been charge sheeted and there is ample evidence against him to show his role in the offence of money laundering.
