LG RK Mathur chairs meeting to review proposals of tunnels over 5 passes in Ladakh

LADAKH Dec 30: Lieutenant Governor Radha Krishna Mathur chaired a meeting to review proposals of tunnels over 5 passes viz. Key la, Khardong la, Fotu la, Namki la & Hamboting la on Friday.

LG Mathur emphasised that the tunnels should provide all-weather connectivity in target areas, improving travelling experience of locals & tourists.

Technical aspects in order to assess the most viable route with the safest alignment & elevation for these tunnels were also discussed keeping in view the geological challenges, cost, working front, ease of access for people & tourism prospects of the region.
