Lok Sabha Elections 2024: First Phase of EVM randomization successfully conducted at Ganderbal
GANDERBAL, MARCH 22: The first phase of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) randomization for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 today took place at the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat Ganderbal.
The randomisation was held in presence of Assistant Commissioner Revenue Ganderbal/Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) Ganderbal, M Altaf, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kangan/ARO Kangan, Nuzhat Qureshi; besides representatives of recognized National and local political parties, this crucial phase focused on the fair allocation of ballot units, control units, and VVPATs for two assembly segments within the district.
Transparency and impartiality were the cornerstones of this process, as emphasized by the AROs. With the aid of dedicated software, the randomization ensured that the elections would proceed without any human intervention, instilling confidence in the integrity of the democratic process.
Following the randomization, all EVMs were securely transferred to designated strong rooms in their respective constituencies, under strict security measures.
Prior to the commencement of the randomization, political representatives were provided with comprehensive briefings on the procedure, ensuring their understanding and trust in the sanctity of the electoral process. Their presence underscored the collective commitment to upholding democratic values and ensuring free and fair elections.
Subsequent phases of randomization will be conducted to allocate EVMs to polling stations, further strengthening the foundation of the democratic process.
