LRLM organize orientation programme for bankers and officials, focus on financial inclusion
Leh, September 28, 2024: Ladakh Rural Livelihood Mission (LRLM) organized a one-day orientation program for bankers and officials of LRLM at the Auditorium Hall, ACD Office, Leh on 27th September 2024. This was the first-ever meeting with banks in Ladakh focusing on the Financial Inclusion component of DAY-NRLM, with LRLM being the implementing agency for the mission in the region.
The orientation programme covered critical topics, including financial literacy, digital finance, SHG and individual SHG member credit linkage, insurance coverage for rural women of Ladakh, and other key subjects. Given the challenging geographical conditions of Ladakh, necessary adaptations and changes were also discussed to ensure the success of financial inclusion efforts in the region.
National Mission Manager, Mr. R.B. Gupta, was the resource person for the event. Assistant Commissioner Development Leh, Convenor UTLBC, Manager Lead Bank Leh, representatives from various banks, and LRLM staff from Leh and Kargil were present during the programme.
The orientation was instrumental in strengthening collaboration between banks and LRLM to promote financial inclusion for SHGs in Ladakh.
