LS Poll Counting: Trends show ‘Abki Baar Modi Sarkaar,’ says BJP leader Numal Momin
Guwahati (Assam) [India], June 4 (ANI): Deputy Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly, Numal Momin exuded confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party would win over 300 seats by Tuesday evening.
Speaking to ANI, the BJP leader said, “According to the latest trend seen so far, there would be re-establishment of Narendra Modi’s government, as the trends show Abki Baar Modi Sarkaar.”
Responding to the latest trends by ECI, he said, “The counting process is still going on and we have faith that BJP will win over 300 seats till evening. The public has blessed Prime Minister Narendra Modi in order to make India a ‘Vishwa guru’ again and hence he will be re-elected for a third consecutive term.”
On the questions of BJP’s winning probability in Assam, the Deputy speaker said, “Right now we are leading on around 10 seats in Assam and undoubtedly we will win the majority also. Currently, the lead is on 10 seats, luckily if get leads on 12 seats, we’ll be much happier, as all the party worked hard in the elections.”
The NDA constituents in Assam are the Bharatiya Janata Party, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and United Peoples’ Party Liberal (UPPL).
Overall, as per the latest trends by the Election Commission on 542 Lok Sabha seats, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is crossing the halfway mark.
The Lok Sabha elections were conducted in seven phases- on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1.
In the 2019 elections, NDA wrested 353 seats, of which the BJP won 303 alone. The Opposition’s UPA got only 93 seats of which the Congress got 52.
